Adam Kootman is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee helping adults and couples navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, self-doubt, and life transitions.

Trained in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University with additional training in attachment-based and emotionally focused approaches.

Under supervision by Anne Galbraith, LMFT.

How I Can Help:

  • Explore the patterns that contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, and relationship struggles.

  • A collaborative space to better understand yourself and navigate life's challenges.

  • Strengthen communication, deepen connection, and work through recurring conflicts together.

A small dog with long, curly fur and large ears sitting on a towel on a wooden picnic table at the beach. The background features a rocky shoreline, the ocean with small waves, and a cloudy sky with a hint of sunlight on the horizon. There are various items on the table, including a container, a cup, and some snacks, with a kayak visible on the rocky beach.
A man with dark, wavy hair, glasses, and a beard, smiling outdoors in front of a blurred background of trees with autumn-colored leaves. He is wearing a gray t-shirt and a blue plaid shirt.

Let’s

Snow-capped mountains under a partly cloudy sky with rocky terrain and scattered boulders in the foreground.
A small dog with a light coat stands on a dirt path near the coast, surrounded by green plants and fallen leaves. In the background, there are ocean waves and a few ships on the horizon, with the sky partly cloudy.
A mountain river flowing through a rocky and wooded landscape under a blue sky with wispy clouds.

I’m glad you’re here.

It doesn’t always look like something is wrong.

From the outside, life keeps moving. You show up. You get through the day.

But somewhere underneath, something doesn’t settle.

A thought that lingers longer than it should.
A feeling that doesn’t quite have words.
The same patterns, quietly repeating.

You carry it on your own.
Not because you want to, but because it’s hard to explain.

Over time, a kind of distance forms.
From yourself. From other people. From the life you thought you’d be living.

And still, there’s a part of you that knows something wants to be felt.

Therapy can be a place to listen to that.

I offer a space to slow down, to feel heard and attended to, without needing to have it all figured out.

Together, we make sense of what’s been there all along.

And begin to find a way forward.

  • My approach is relational, emotionally attuned, and grounded in understanding the patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others.

I’m less focused on quick fixes and more interested in helping you slow things down, make sense of what’s underneath the surface, and create change that actually lasts.

  • I often work with people who feel stuck in patterns they can’t quite name.

This can show up as anxiety, overthinking, relationship struggles, or a general sense that something isn’t working, even if everything looks fine from the outside.

  • It means paying attention not just to what you’re thinking, but what you’re feeling and experiencing in the moment.

Together, we look at how your emotions, past experiences, and relationships connect, and how those patterns continue to show up in your life. From there, things start to make more sense, and change becomes possible.
